The COVID-19 pandemic profoundly impacted both the music industry and its community. Significant financial losses attributed to the suspension of in-person shows, festivals, and events placed an unprecedented financial burden on those working in and alongside the industry. Furthermore, the social dynamics and mental health of those within the community were negatively affected by the absence of these in-person interactions and events.
This app aims to combat these challenges and bring a positive influence to those adversely affected by the pandemic in the music industry and community.

To address these challenges I developed spotlight, which serves as a comprehensive platform, seamlessly integrating the social media accounts, music, and work of music industry professionals, artists, creators, influencers, and enthusiasts. By consolidating these elements in one location, the app facilitates enhanced connectivity, ensuring users are well-informed about new releases, virtual events, and able to easily discover new content and users.
The app streamlines information, work, and content distribution, leveraging personalized recommendations based on users' interests and activity. This enables industry professionals to effectively promote themselves, their projects, events, and content, thus increasing revenue generation to alleviate the financial strain induced by the pandemic.
Spotlight's unique feature of enabling simultaneous interaction across multiple platforms enhances connectivity, making it effortless for users to connect with diverse individuals and communities sharing similar interests.
research
The primary objective during the research phase was to identify the ongoing challenges confronted by individuals in the music industry and its communities due to the impact of COVID-19. This phase also involved an examination of existing applications that have proven beneficial to this group during these challenging times.
Following the accumulation of this information and the formulation of a preliminary app concept, I proceeded to design a survey and conducted user interviews. This outreach was specifically tailored to individuals within my target market, encompassing those with direct experience in or affiliation with the music industry. This diverse group includes musicians, producers, artists, DJs, performers, industry professionals, content creators, frequent festival and show attendees, as well as avid music enthusiasts.
